At Sunfield UMC, our goal is to make the Bible accessible and applicable to modern life. While we serve a diverse global audience, our work is grounded in historic Christian orthodoxy. We believe that faith is not just a set of ideas, but a living source of hope, peace, and strength for every season of the human experience.
We believe the Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God. It is our primary guide for faith and practice. While written in specific historical contexts, we believe its truth is timeless and speaks directly to our modern struggles, relationships, and joys.
We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe God is the Creator of all things, perfectly holy, and infinitely loving. He is not distant from our pain but is actively involved in the restoration of our world.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and rose bodily from the dead. Through Him, we have forgiveness and the promise of eternal life. We believe He is the ultimate source of the peace and healing we seek in our daily lives.
We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own efforts or works. This grace is available to everyone, regardless of their past or present struggles.
We believe that faith is meant to be lived out. The Holy Spirit dwells within believers, empowering us to grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
